Academy Museum of Motion Pictures: Signage
Opened in 2021 in Los Angeles, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is the largest institution in the United States dedicated to the art and science of filmmaking. Designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, the museum occupies a restored 1939 Streamline Moderne building connected to a new spherical addition on Wilshire Boulevard.
Building on the earlier signage standards established by Pentagram, IN-FO.CO led signage planning and implementation throughout the museum, extending the visual language into the physical environment. The work includes an innovative approach to digital signage employing a vertical format, and custom motion graphics to announce exhibitions on the building's exterior, as well as environmental graphics applied across the institution.
